Hawaii Takes Geoghegan Round in Deciding Game | A classic and dramatic Geoghegan Round has wrapped up, with the Hawaii Tropics outlasting the Seattle Storm to advance to the Doubleday Series.
Hawaii won the final game by a score of 2-0 and took the series 3-2.
"We can enjoy this one tonight, but then it's back to work and thinking about the next win," said Hawaii left fielder Bastião Fardos, whose standout performance earned him the nod as series MVP.
Fardos hit .350 with a .381 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The Hawaii Tropics will play against the Long Beach Surfers in the next round. Long Beach had a bye in the Geoghegan Round. The Doubleday Series is scheduled to begin on October 13th, 2044. |
