Mad Popes Even With River Monsters After Home Win
|
The Sacramento Mad Popes and the Twin Cities River Monsters will take the Doubleday Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Mad Popes beat the River Monsters 6-2 at The Basilica at Muskrat Slough to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Sacramento right-hander Thomas Turner had a big role in the win. He threw 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball.
Ryan Geauxinue, who led the FL in batting average with .364 in 2056, aided the Sacramento cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the second baseman went 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Geauxinue said after the game.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Basilica at Muskrat Slough in Sacramento.
