Sacramento Win to Pull Even With Twin Cities
The Sacramento Mad Popes defeated the Twin Cities River Monsters, 9-4 in Game 4 of the Doubleday Series today. Making an impact was third baseman Juan Vera, who went 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win moves Sacramento into a 2-2 tie with Twin Cities in the series.

Sacramento used the timely hitting of Ryan Geauxinue to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mad Popes on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Things broke our way today and that's great," Mad Popes manager Fernando Pacheco said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Land O' Lakes Ballpark in St. Paul.
