River Monsters Win Geoghegan Round
The Twin Cities River Monsters bandwagon is filling up fast, as the team has moved one step closer to winning a Monty Brewster Memorial Series championship.

Twin Cities downed the San Fernando Bears 6-5 tonight at Chico's Bail Bonds Field, to take the Geoghegan Round 3-1.

"It seems much more real now and we're really starting to realize we've got a great shot at this thing," said Felipe Vega, who was named series MVP. "When we play our best we're as good as anybody in the Brewster Baseball Association."

For the series, Vega had 7 hits for .700, with a .636 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, 1 RBI and scored 4 runs.

The Twin Cities River Monsters will play against the Sacramento Mad Popes in the next round. Sacramento had a bye in the Geoghegan Round. The Doubleday Series is scheduled to begin on October 8th , 2058.
