Menzies Blasts Blazers, Flyers Take Game 3, 6-5
At 37, Robert Menzies knows he may not have many playoff appearances left, so he was determined to make it memorable. Mission accomplished.

The Charlotte Flyers shortstop was 3 for 5 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 to help his club get past the Montreal Blazers, 6-5, in Game 3 of the Geoghegan Round at Family Dollar Field today. With the win, Charlotte now trails Montreal 2-1 in the best-of-5 series.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when Charlotte right fielder Fuad Demirel, facing Vonne Baloloy, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Flyers the 6-5 win.

"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Demirel said in his postgame press conference.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Family Dollar Field in Charlotte.
