The New Orleans Crawdads weathered a fine game by Brooklyn second baseman Pete Brace to upend the Robins, 7-5, at The Commanders Palace. Brace was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. New Orleans reliever Carlos Miranda got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Ken Arroyo was tagged with the loss. The win brings the Crawdads to 6-4, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.

New Orleans took a 5-4 lead on Garm Guldenmond's 1st home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Brooklyn pitcher Ken Arroyo in the bottom of the seventh.

"We're feeling good in this clubhouse right now after that one," Guldenmond told the New Orleans Daily.
