Joseph Mother added some punch to the Phoenix offense, helping them outmuscle the Brooklyn Robins, 12-8. In the game, Mother, who finished 3rd in the JL in RBI with 140 last year, went 4 for 4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Phoenix reliever Rob Scott picked up the win, raising his record to 5-3. José Hernández was tagged with the loss. The victory gives Phoenix a record of 52-40.

Phoenix needed the clutch hitting of Michael O'Halloran to notch the win. The left fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Talons on top, 9-8. For the game, O'Halloran had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
