Boise picked up a win at F. Nephi Grigg Memorial Stadium, bumping off the Charm City Jimmies, 5-1. Pitcher Doug Eckhoff was a major reason the Spuds emerged victorious. With the win, Boise raised its record to 49-39.
Mahine Karetu, the Boise third baseman, contributed a 2-run single in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 2-0, Spuds. For the game, Karetu went 2 for 4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Boise manager Mario Contreras. "It's usually not just one thing."
