The first-place Sacramento Mad Popes took on the Twin Cities River Monsters in front of a spirited crowd.

The Sacramento Mad Popes beat the Twin Cities River Monsters, 4-0. Sacramento pitcher and Las Vegas, Nevada, native Mark Moore led the way. Angus Trew got the save, the 1st for him this season.

The Mad Popes got an important contribution from designated hitter Coy Skinner, who in the bottom of the third punched a first pitch cutter into right for a run-scoring double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Mad Popes ahead, 2-0.

In postgame comments to the Sacramento Gazette, Skinner said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

Sacramento is now 53-33, 3½ games up in the Frick League Pacific Division.
