Pharaohs Lose to Hebrew Hammers in Walk-Off
|
The Cairo Pharaohs could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Júlio García into a win. Instead, the Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers prevailed, 4-3. García threw 6.1 innings allowing 3 runs. The second-place Hebrew Hammers now sit at 79-62.
The decisive blow was delivered by Ira Patterson in the bottom of the 13th when he hit a run-scoring double off 36-year old left-handed pitcher Jay Chapman to win the game for Jerusalem. The home crowd went nuts.
After the game, Jerusalem manager Eisuke Ishii applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
