Pearls Suffer 4-1 Home Loss
|
Spirited fans greeted the Tokyo Pearls for their clash with the Athens Fighting Centaurs.
The Athens Fighting Centaurs tallied a win at Manama Fields, throttling the Tokyo Pearls, 4-1. Starting pitcher Dorian Tzannetakis was a big reason for his team's success. In 7.1 innings, Tzannetakis surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Max Dawe converted his 34th save in 37 tries.
Quinn Greene broke a 1-1 tie in the top of the fifth with a run-scoring walk. It put the Fighting Centaurs in front, 2-1. For the game, Greene went 1-3 with a walk.
"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Athens skipper Otto Sandschulte. "It's important to have different ways to do it."
