Jerusalem Drops Buenos Aires, 4-3
|
The Buenos Aires Brisas and Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers provided some drama for the home crowd.
The Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers faced a tough opponent in Buenos Aires pitcher Motka Beteev, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Estadio Rico by a final score of 4-3. Beteev went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. The win went to Hugh Pilgrim in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Siu-chung Zhan took the loss. Earning his 29th save of the year was Fernando Camacho.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Xinpeng Zhào? The 35-year old left fielder Zhào stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put Jerusalem up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 3, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said Buenos Aires manager Yao-qing Yuan.
The losing streak for Buenos Aires has now reached 4 games.
