Fighting Centaurs Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Athens Fighting Centaurs topped the London Monarchs by the score of 4-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to designated hitter Talbot Purcell. Purcell was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Fighting Centaurs on the day. The Fighting Centaurs now have a mark of 61-81.
Athens used the clutch hitting of Quinn Greene to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to give the Fighting Centaurs the lead, 4-3. For the game, Greene had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
