The Tokyo Pearls dealt the London Monarchs a 6-2 loss at London Stadium. Fa-tang Situ was the star on offense. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Tokyo pitcher Louis Adams got the win, upping his record to 3-4. Sam Rutgers got the loss. At 66-67, the Pearls claim 5th place in the GBC.
The result might have been different for Tokyo, had it not been for Rafael Moreno, the 12-year veteran . Moreno stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put Tokyo up, 5-2. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Situ told the Tokyo Daily News. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
