Sharks Earn 5-3 Win Against Brisas
|
The Sydney Sharks defeated the Buenos Aires Brisas, 5-3, in 10 innings in Global Baseball Consortium action at Estadio Rico. Sydney pitcher Jerry Bourque had a standout performance. Juan Santana earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record is now 3-2. The Sharks have now won 4 straight.
Sydney needed the clutch hitting of Wilson Alomar to seal the deal. The designated hitter swatted a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Sharks on top, 4-3. For the game, Alomar had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Bourque.
