Fighting Centaurs Score Late, Topple Sharks, 6-4
|
The Athens Fighting Centaurs weathered a fine game by Sydney right fielder Keaton Guest to upend the Sharks, 6-4, at Piraeus Park. Guest went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Max Dawe was credited with the save for Athens, his 28th of the season. The last-place Fighting Centaurs have a record of 52-69.
Athens took a 6-4 lead on Carlos Campos's 1st triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which Campos hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Sydney pitcher Bryan Hall shaking his head.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Campos.
