The performance of Dave Butler proved critical in helping Cairo beat Sydney, 3-2. The Pharaohs catcher went 3 for 3 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Reliever Tony Lamplough picked up the win. His record improves to 4-0. Richard Balgera took the loss. Sydney now has a 6-game losing streak.

Butler had a timely hit for Cairo in the bottom of the seventh. With Sydney trailing 2-1, he turned a 2-0 slider into a 2-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season, making it 3-2, Cairo.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Sydney manager Kang Der.
