Cairo Topples Jerusalem, 7-3
|
The Cairo Pharaohs picked up a win at The Holy Land, taking down the Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers, 7-3. Starting pitcher Júlio García was a big reason why. Cairo is now 50-36, Jerusalem 51-35.
Cairo used the timely hitting of Boulus bin Altair to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Pharaohs ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"Good, blue-collar kind of win," said Pharaohs manager James Monger.
