Brisas Score Late to Upend Fighting Centaurs, 5-3
|
With designated hitter Matt Garrison leading the charge, the Buenos Aires Brisas defeated the Athens Fighting Centaurs, 5-3, at Piraeus Park. Garrison, who is tied for 7th in the GBC in doubles with 24, went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Harry Raymond earned his 28th save in 29 chances. With the win, Buenos Aires pushed its record to 53-47.
Daniel Watson, the 32-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Watson contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning to put Buenos Aires up, 3-1.
"We'll sip on a cold one and savor this win," said Watson.
