Tokyo Pearls starter António Ramírez pitched his team past the Buenos Aires Brisas, 4-0. Ramírez, the winner, moves to 8-4. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 5 walks. With the win, the Pearls have a record of 46-41.
The Pearls got a lift from designated hitter Adel bin Husam al Din, who in the bottom of the fourth hit a solo home run. His 19th home run of the season put the Pearls on top, 2-0.
"It feels good to get this one," bin Husam al Din told the Tokyo Daily News.
