Pearls Drop Pilots, 2-1
|
Sao Paulo wasted a solid 7-inning effort from starting pitcher Jai Redelius, losing to Tokyo, 2-1, at Ballpark of Bucharest. Tokyo reliever Filippio Ioriatti was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Rex Strong took the loss. The win for the Pearls lifted their record to 43-36.
Tokyo used a clutch hit from Chris Thomas to get the win. The right fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Pearls ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"Feels good to get the job done," Thomas said after the game.
