Pearls Down Brisas, 2-1
|
Tokyo got a first-rate effort from pitcher António Ramírez, who frustrated Buenos Aires hitters en route to a 2-1 Pearls triumph at Estadio Rico. The triumph puts Tokyo at 32-30 for the season.
Jaime Cuevas, the 37-year old third baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Cuevas contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning to put Tokyo up, 2-1.
"We scored one run," said Buenos Aires manager Bill Inkster. "You're not gonna get a lot of Ws scoring just one run."
