The Boise Spuds got a strong performance from pitcher Danny Leach, who stymied the Las Vegas offense en route to a win, 2-1, at F. Nephi Grigg Memorial Stadium. Boise pitcher Samir Qasim got the win, upping his record to 2-2. Tom Miller got the loss. Boise goes to 80-78, Las Vegas to 87-71.

In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 1-1, right fielder Eduardo Herrera won it for Boise. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Herrera hit a full count fastball from Tom Miller for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 2-1 win.

"We did just enough to win," Leach said.
