Long Beach rode a decent outing from starter Ralph Boyd to victory over the Bikini Krill. The final score was 5-3. With the victory, the Surfers upped their record to 84-68.

Long Beach took a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With one out, left fielder Fred Courtney hit a 2-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.

Courtney called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
