Uecker Excels in 4-3 Portland Win
|
The Portland Lumberjacks topped the San Fernando Bears, 4-3, with catcher Allan Uecker playing a big role. Uecker was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Lumberjacks in the win. Renato Lacerda recorded the save, his 16th. The Bears have now dropped 5 straight.
Uecker came through with some timely hitting for Portland. With San Fernando trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the eighth, Uecker hit a first pitch curveball for a 2-run double. His 13th double of the season made it 4-3, Portland.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Lumberjacks manager Mons Raider. "This one was nice to get."
