Makin bin Isma'il was locked and loaded, helping the Buenos Aires Brisas beat the Sydney Sharks, 2-1. Darren Asseldonk notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 1.1 innings. His record now sits at 2-1. Harry Raymond closed the door for Buenos Aires, picking up his 8th save of the year.
Buenos Aires needed the clutch hitting of Geaney Fay to notch the win. The second baseman hammered a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Brisas on top, 2-1. For the game, Fay had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Sydney manager Kang Der.
Now 13-19, the Sharks have not played well this season.
