Pharaohs Topple Hebrew Hammers with Late Rally
|
The Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers got a superb performance from pitcher Afzul Chishti, but the Cairo Pharaohs still won the game, 4-2. Chishti threw 6.0 innings of 1-hit ball. Cairo reliever Eduardo Moreno picked up the win, raising his record to 1-1. Bartolo Romero was tagged with the loss. The win puts Cairo at 3-2.
Cairo took a 4-2 lead on Jimmy Bigelow's 3rd double of the season. The 2-run double, which Bigelow hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Jerusalem pitcher José Hernández visibly frustrated.
"I still think this team can play even better," Bigelow told the Cairo Herald.
