The Hawaii Tropics defeated the Yellow Springs Nine, 6-3, in Frick League action at Utopia Field. Hawaii pitcher Semih Gurânî had a standout performance. The winning pitcher was Gurânî, now 6-3. He tossed 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 3. Juan Martínez collected save number 6.
Luis Estrada hit a 2-run triple off Dave Lee in the top of the third, which put the Tropics in front, 3-2. In addition to the triple, Estrada had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Estrada said.
Hawaii is now 42-28, Yellow Springs 30-40.
