The Twin Cities River Monsters defeated the Hawaii Tropics, 5-3, in Frick League action at ‘Iolani Palace. Twin Cities pitcher Yoshii Takuda had a standout performance. With the win, Twin Cities upped its record to 36-29.

Felipe Vega, the fan favorite , had a direct impact on the outcome. Vega contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put Twin Cities up, 2-0.

Vega told a Twin Cities Times reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
