Sluggers Deal Lumberjacks 5-3 Defeat
|
The Louisville Sluggers picked up a win at The Trail in Multnomah, topping the Portland Lumberjacks, 5-3. On the mound for Louisville was right-hander Seiichi Suzuki. He played a principal role in the triumph. Suzuki picked up the win for Louisville, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 6-4. The Lumberjacks, at 34-29, have lost 4 straight games.
Louisville used a well-timed hit by Ka'im Khayri to capture the win. The third baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the first inning to put the Sluggers ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"We're in a little bit of a dry spell," said Portland manager Mons Raider.
