River Monsters Take Tight Tangle
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Twin Cities River Monsters eventually prevailed.
Twin Cities River Monsters starter Yoshii Takuda found his groove in his team's 2-1 win over the Hawaii Tropics. Twin Cities has a record of 30-33, placing them 5th in the Frick League Heartland Division.
Twin Cities used a timely hit from César Román to get the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the River Monsters ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Rich Kerr.
