Lane Extends Hit Streak to 20 Games Friday, July 28th , 2175 Billy Lane has been ripping hits every day for a while now, and nobody seems able to stop him. The Los Angeles center fielder picked up 2 more today against the New York Yankees and now has a 20-game hitting streak. The Dodgers won the game, 7-6. "Definitely somebody's going to stop me at some point," he said later, chuckling. "I'll enjoy it for the time being." Billy Lane hit an RBI single in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, flied out in the 5th and hit a three-run home run off Walt House in the 7th. Lane is hitting .274 for the season with 17 home runs, 52 RBIs and 55 runs scored. He has 101 hits in 369 at-bats and played in 90 games. |
