Gibbs Helps Twins Beat Rockies, 7-3
|
Minnesota defeated Colorado, 7-3, in large part due to 23-year old center fielder Eric Gibbs. Gibbs drove in 3 runs. The center fielder had 2 doubles and 1 home run for the Twins. After losing, Colorado is 15-10.
Paco Salazar, who finished 5th in the NL in runs with 102 in 2167, was 1-3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs for Minnesota. In a tie game with one out in the bottom of the sixth, Salazar came through with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Twins in front, 3-2.
"No complaints from me," said Twins manager Akshat Singhal. "I like what I saw out there."
