Yankees Trip Expos, 7-2, in Extra Innings
|
The New York Yankees and Montreal Expos put on quite a show.
The New York Yankees topped the Montreal Expos, 7-2, in American League action at Felipe Alou Field. The standout performance belonged to New York pitcher and East Orange, New Jersey, native Ed Lane. The Yankees raised their record to 7-2.
New York used a timely hit from Dan Holland to get the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put the Yankees ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"I felt good up there," said Holland. "I saw the ball well."
