The Kansas City Royals had to overcome a fine effort from Texas pitcher Matt Miles to grab a narrow 5-4 win at Nolan Ryan Field. Miles went 8 innings and allowed 3 runs. Texas, with the loss, is 4-3.

Kansas City used the clutch hitting of Jorge Torres to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Royals ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Torres.
