Chicago Grabs 3-2 Road Win
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers got a superb performance from pitcher Dick Burke, but the Chicago Cubs still won the game, 3-2. Burke threw 6.1 innings of 1-hit ball. Chicago reliever Dakila Butardo picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jeff O'Radaghan absorbed the loss. Los Angeles, with the loss, is 2-6.
Garth Wallace, who is a three-time Gold Glove Award winner, had a direct impact on the outcome. Wallace contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Chicago up, 2-1.
"It feels good to get this one," Wallace told the Chicago Times.
