Marlins Slap 6-2 Loss on Astros
|
Behind a fine performance from Julius O'Herlihy, the Miami Marlins knocked off the Houston Astros, 6-2. O'Herlihy went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 runs for the Marlins. Brian McClain, the winner, is now 12-9. He struck out 3 and walked 1 over 6.1 innings, while allowing 2 runs on 8 hits. Miami, at 79-82, sits in third place in the National League Segura.
Miami used the stroke of Mal Zimmerman to get the win. The center fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the second inning to put the Marlins ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We didn't get the results that we wanted," said Houston skipper David Walsh.
