Watkins Helps Diamondbacks Win, 5-4, with Pair of Homers
The 5-4 Arizona win over Detroit was due largely to King Watkins. The Diamondbacks designated hitter hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The win went to Marvin Nelson in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Josh Grimsey took the loss. Donnie Sims earned the save for Arizona, his 6th of the year.

Had Watkins not come through in the top of the seventh, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Watkins hit a 2-run home run. The Diamondbacks took the lead, 5-3, and never looked back.

Watkins told the Arizona Times: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."

Arizona now sits at 74-87, while Detroit falls to 71-90.
