Getting a good performance from third baseman Andy Thost, the Washington Nationals defeated the Houston Astros, 5-1. Thost went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Nationals. Washington bumps their record to 74-83 with the win.

Contributing to the Washington win was Kedar Sayyar. In the bottom of the fourth, the slick-fielding shortstop had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 2-0, the Nationals in front.

"There's a lot of passion in our clubhouse," said Thost. "When we put it together we're a great ball club."
