Houston Rallies for 5-2 Win
|
The Houston Astros faced a tough opponent in Philadelphia pitcher Christian Magee, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Minute Maid Park by a final score of 5-2. Magee went 7 innings and allowed 3 runs. Houston reliever Travis Green picked up the win, upping his record to 4-5. Christian Magee took the loss. Pedro Martínez earned the save for Houston, his 21st.
Forest Grove, Oregon-born Eric Houston came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the eighth, with the bases loaded and the Astros trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run single to right to put Houston on top.
"We've got great fans," said Houston. "I hope they got what they came for."
The Houston win streak is now 3 games.
