Dodgers Squeeze By Oakland, 5-4
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers had to overcome a big game from Oakland right fielder Ralph McCoy to leave O.co Coliseum with a victory. And they did, winning, 5-4, in 10 innings. McCoy went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. With the win, Los Angeles upped its record to 79-63.
Shohei Osawa's hit in the top of the tenth was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a fastball from Stephen Sanders to center for a run-scoring single. It put Los Angeles in front, 5-4.
Oakland manager Troy Schwant said: "No matter what the wins or losses say, there are a bunch of guys in the clubhouse who don't really care. We know we haven't played well this season but we're not going to give up."
