Vandals Spill Nationals, 7-2
|
The Vancouver Vandals finished off the Washington Nationals, 7-2. Much of the credit belonged to third baseman Nicholas Allen. Allen was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Vandals. The Vandals saw their win-loss record go to 71-67. At the same time, the Nationals fell to 65-73.
With Vancouver leading 4-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Allen hit a 3-run home run off Washington hurler Edgar Ángel. It was the 33rd home run of the season for Allen and put his team ahead, 7-1.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Allen said after the game.
