Detroit Gets 9-1 Win Against Twins
Detroit Tigers starter Gary Shaw kept the Minnesota Twins hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 9-1 win. With the win, the Tigers have a record of 48-57.

Kovalan Nehru was 2 for 3 with a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for Detroit. The 27-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Shawn Miller. It was his 23rd RBI of the season.
