Pirates Suffer 4-2 Setback
The Milwaukee Brewers took Pittsburgh pitcher Daisuke Otsuka's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Three Rivers Stadium. The final score had Milwaukee getting past the Pirates, 4-2. Otsuka went 5.1 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 8. Milwaukee reliever Curt Phelps picked up the win, raising his record to 6-5. Donato Farrajota was tagged with the loss. Donnie Jackson picked up the save for Milwaukee, his 22nd of the year.

Milwaukee used a timely hit from Henry Phillips to get the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Brewers ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Phillips told the Milwaukee Daily News.

The first-place Brewers, at 53-38, now lead their division by 3 games.
