Braves Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Pirates, 9-1
|
Atlanta starter Josh Ferris kept the Pittsburgh hitters in check, helping his team cruise to a win, 9-1. Steven Reed snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 2.2 innings. He's now 2-3 on the season. The Atlanta win streak is now 3 games.
Atlanta took advantage of an error in the top of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 1-1, when Pete Uribe hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put the Braves in front, 3-1.
"Josh had good life on his pitches," said Atlanta manager Corn Cob.
