Cubs Suffer 7-2 Home Defeat
|
The Seattle Mariners got a strong performance from pitcher Víctor Carranza. Big Gene stymied the Chicago offense en route to a solid, 7-2 win at Wrigley Field. Carranza picked up the win for Seattle, going 5.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 8-3. Seattle goes to 45-40. The win puts them 2 games up in their division.
Early in the game, left fielder Ronald Watkins had a 2-run home run for Seattle. It was his 15th home run of the season and put the Mariners on top, 3-1.
