Behind Sánchez, Athletics Beat Braves, 3-0
|
Starting pitcher Carlos Sánchez was a major factor in the 3-0 Oakland Athletics triumph over the Atlanta Braves. David Deschamps was credited with the save for Oakland, his 4th of the season. Oakland is now 24-38, while Atlanta is 35-26.
Sánchez, who leaned on his changeup, allowed no runs on just 3 hits over 6.1 innings for the Athletics. For the most part, Atlanta hitters were simply overmatched.
"Really, really impressed with the way Carlos competed and executed pitches," said Oakland manager Troy Schwant.
