Still Kicking: San Francisco Cut Milwaukee Series Lead to 3-1 With Late Win
|
Already down in the World Series, the San Francisco Giants put on their best show, beating the Milwaukee Brewers by a final score of 6-2 today. Héctor Mata was special. He threw 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball. San Francisco now trails Milwaukee 3-1 in the best-of-7 affair.
San Francisco needed the clutch hitting of Eric Banks to notch the win. The right fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Giants on top, 6-2. For the game, Banks had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Mata.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Miller Park in Milwaukee.
