Hits Blitz for Pearls Vargas Friday, February 9th , 2052 José Vargas truly did it all at Pearls Park today. The Bangkok Pearls shortstop hit for the cycle -- collecting 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run -- as he paced his club to victory, 16-2 over the Toronto Icehawks. "You know that sweet sound you hear when you hit the ball just right? I heard that every time today," Vargas said later. "It was a heck of a feeling." It was a game good enough for him to make a little history. He bombed Toronto pitching for 4 hits in 5 at-bats and his name will now go into the record books. Vargas also racked up 2 runs batted in and 4 runs scored in the game. José Vargas doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Kevin Dooley in the 5th and hit an RBI triple in the 7th.
