Kernels Hitoshi Kitamura Wins FL Award Monday, September 26th , 2061 24-year-old Hitoshi Kitamura sent shock waves through Brewster Baseball Association last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Frick League Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Kitamura made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .500 average, 12 hits in 24 at-bats, 3 home runs and 10 RBI. Where the Des Moines Kernels third baseman goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Kitamura certainly made his mark last week. For the season, Kitamura is hitting .277, batted in 15 runs with 4 home runs and 10 runs scored. |
