September's #1 JL Rookie Named Tuesday, October 1st , 2058 Jeff Sawyers is still a bit shy, but then, who could blame the newest Johnson League Rookie of the Month honoree? He hasn't been around the league long enough to fully know the ropes yet, despite the fact that he's putting up veteran-like numbers. In September the Calgary hitter tagged opposing pitching for a .343 average with 23 hits, 8 home runs and 21 RBIs. So far this year in 142 games Sawyers is hitting .280 with 39 home runs, 100 RBIs and 80 runs scored. |
